7. What does organic search mean?

Organic search refers to the free search results that are generated by Google for a given search query. The alternative to organic search results are paid advertising. You can distinguish the difference between the two listings because an advertising will have a small “ad” symbol on the left side of the ad. This symbol can either be black or inside a green box.

8. What is keyword research?

Keyword research refers to actively researching the keywords that you’re considering targeting with your website or blog post. Keyword research will help you figure out what keywords to target, search volumes, difficulty in both organic and paid advertising etc.

9. What is SERPs?

SERP is an acronym for Search Engine Results Page. The page that displays the results of the query that you searched for on Google or your search engine of choice.

10. Is my website indexed with google?

To check if your website is indexed by Google or other search engines, go to that search engine (google.com) and type “site:yourwebsite.com” and press enter. If your website has been indexed with that search engine, the pages that are indexed will be displayed in the search results. If no results are displayed your website has not been indexed. You can also implement Google Search Console to streamline any of your website needs.

11. What is schema markup?

Schema markup or structured data is a computing language that search engines use to easily identify specific elements of your website to include in search engines results. Some of the elements that will be “marked up” are your business name, logo, social profiles, reviews, videos, products or services and more. Implementing schema markup on your website will increase the opportunity for knowledge cards, rich snippets and review snippets in search results. Having snippets added to your site will allow google to prominently display your website in the search listings.
